4 May 2019

On 5th May 2019, we officially celebrated our first feast day as the Holy Family Parish since the amalgamation of the Partnered Parishes of Christ the King and Our Lady of Perpetual Help (including St. John’s) early last year. Parishioners from all three churches gathered together to fill Our Lady’s church for a special morning mass. With every pew and aisle filled, the elbow-to-elbow intimacy between both seated and standing parishioners was a powerful testament to our strong community spirit. The Eucharistic celebration concluded with a beautiful flower dance by the children, followed by a procession. By then, the sausages were already sizzling away on the barbie and a feast featuring various foods that reflect our community’s diversity lined the walls of the big hall. The games and activities operated by Kaboom were especially popular amongst the children and those young at heart. The feast concluded in the afternoon and although all good things must come to an end, we hope that it was an enjoyable and memorable day for all those who attended.

A special acknowledgement and thank you to all who participated in the organisation and coordination of the Feast Day. We look forward to coming together again to celebrate our Feast Day in 2020!
